International Pairs is the UK's premier tournament for amateur club golfers and is now more accessible than ever. Now you can enter even if your club doesn't run a qualifying event.
Following the success of the inaugural Summer Matchplay in 2008, we are currently running a Winter Matchplay for winter 2008/9. The Winter Matchplay is already underway but you can register
for the Summer Matchplay . The winners from all brackets of the draw will go forward to the
regional finals in 2009 to compete for the opportunity to represent
club and country in the World Final 2009.
 UK Champions 2008
Hundreds of UK golf clubs have already registered for this year’s event but there is still time to join them. The qualifying event at your club can take place any time up to August 30th 2009 and the winning pair(s) from your club are guaranteed a place in the regional finals in August and September.
The qualifying event can be held in any format although the betterball stableford format used from the semi-finals onwards gives all players an equal chance and must surely be the best playing format for the amateur golfer.
Regional finals will be held on some of the top courses in the UK later in the year and all pairs will receive a night's accommodation either on-site or in a local hotel, a welcome reception and 18 holes of competitive golf. Practice rounds are also available the day before the regional final.
 World Final venue 2009: Carnoustie
The top pairs from each of the regional finals will qualify for the World Final at Carnoustie in October where they will receive two nights' accommodation in the Carnoustie Hotel overlooking the 1st tee and the 18th green, a welcome reception, a gala dinner and, of course, the chance to play competitive golf on the world renowned Carnoustie Championship course.
Register now to ensure that your club is represented. You could be just two rounds of golf away from the World Final in 2009.
Good luck to the UK’s representatives who have already qualified to play in the World Final 2009:
Alan McNichol (20) & Richard Barnes (13) Keswick
Steve Dale (13) & Steve Dale jnr (2) Withernsea
Steve Wood (4) & Rhodri Davies (7) Cottrell Park
John Maxwell (4) & Steven Hunter (0) Bonnybridge
Look out for the extensive coverage on Sky Sports soon after the event.
