Scotts Shine In Scotland For USA, ING Alice and Danny Scott proved to be wonderful ambassadors for the USA and ING at the International Pairs World Finals in St. Andrews Scotland Sept. 21-24. The husband/wife team from Butthead Covers, winners of the ING World Qualifier at Atlantic City Country Club in May, competed against 32 other teams from around the world in a 36-hole competition at the Duke’s Course. Their point total - 32-37--69 - left them in a tie for 14th. England ran away with the title, scoring 88 points to capture the Honey Cup for the second straight year. It was the first trip to Scotland for the Scotts, and they agreed in unison that “we had a marvelous time.” Said Alice: “Competing in the World Finals is an experience we will never forget.” The pair stayed at the historic Rusacks Hotel bordering the 18th hole of the Old Course at St. Andrews, which was the International Pairs headquarters. One of the more thrilling aspects of the event was the kickoff parade through the village of St. Andrews. Each team carried its country flag, as residents lined the streets to cheer them on. The Duke’s Course proved to be a formidable test for all competitors, with its challenging greens complexes and thick rough. October 2008 Alice, Danny Scott carry the American flag during opening parade across the 1st and 18th fairways of the Old Course at St. Andrews at International Pairs. FAST FACT: The 2009 INGWorld Qualifier will be held May 18 on the new Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort Casino during the 19th ING Spring Conference.
