The inaugural International Pairs World Final took place in 2004 and marked a massive step forward in the development of the tournament from a primarily UK event to a truly worldwide competition.

The national champions from each participating country now come together on an annual basis to decide which of them can rightfully claim to be the best in the world and get their hands on the Honey Cup - the only trophy ever to be designed by the world famous golf artist Graeme Baxter.
